CFO asks CEO: “What happens if we invest in developing our people and then they leave us?”

CEO: “What happens if we don’t, and they stay?”

I think this is so profound because it so elegantly illustrates good management and leadership with the CEO (character) and the trap of underinvesting for success by the CFO (character). (AKA the curse of the “boring accountants”).
